 Spanky's began in
1981, with the dream of helping local families find a better way to move no longer deeded clothing and kids furniture out of
their homes without discarding, wasting, or dumping these goods. Emphasizing the value that remained in items paid for with
hard-earned dollars was important to the owners of the company. Over the years, the monies created by this consignment
business have been significant. Along with the goal of moving funds into the family
budget and give things another season of usefulness was a desire to be a good neighbor and contribute to the quality of the
community's life. We have been proud to be a part of many important efforts to make things better. Among them:
- Spanky's is a very important donor to FISH (Friends in Service to Humanity) giving
goods to those who cannot afford to purchase them.
- Spanky's is politically active on several boards and committees to plan the growth
and vitality of Vancouver's Downtown Association

- Spanky's has been a resource for local training programs helping citizens entering
the workforce. We love to help people understand the value of dressing appropriately for the job market while
spending wisely.
- Spanky's has donated hundreds of pounds of clothing to a local church with ties to
those suffering in Romania.
- Spanky's supports local schools with donations for carnivals and fundraisers. We
love kids and those who are helping them get a good education.
- Spanky's has sponsored concerts to benefit local food banks.
- Spanky's is a supporter of the YWCA and its programs for women and families.
- Spanky's has helped raise funds for such local charities as Share House, Open
Ministries, and My Fathers House.
- Spanky's has helped raise funds for Women in Action, a local advocacy group for
women's issues.
And... we are still looking for more ways to contribute to our wonderful
metropolitan area. If you have ideas for us, please contact us! |
